On behalf of all members of the KSANG Seattle Chapter, thank you for visiting our premier local chapter secure website. This website is affiliated and linked to the National KSANG website.
As the President of this august chapter, our reputation within our local community of brothers and sisters in the Diaspora and especially within KSANG organization is a source of joy and pride for me. Members of this chapter have contributed selflessly to the cause of the Association, both at the local and National levels. Seattle Chapter members are committed to representing and promoting the values and ideals of the Association as individuals and collectively. This secure website is just one more way to demonstrate and showcase what the Seattle chapter is all about. We are still evolving.
The National Executive Council (NEC) has given us a mandate to host Seattle 2010 Conference/Convention, the first time both events will be held at the same time in one location. We take this assignment as a reward for our members and our accomplishments (link to the project website). This mandate is pretty demanding and will require all resources that we can muster to put on a show that will be remembered for a long time. Our desire, with total involvement of all chapter representatives on the planning committee, is to plan a conference/convention that befits our association and sets the standard for future conventions.
I am confident that our chapter is ready for this challenge and with the support of all KSANG chapters, the National Executive and Advisory Councils behind us the Seattle Chapter will put on a show.
This website will be the vehicle for our chapter to do fund raisers, promote our local chapter projects, events, and other community activities we are involved in. For the immediate needs, our website will be used for a variety of other innovative purposes such as registration for the convention, hotel reservation, and other convention related information/activities.
In the three years – second term – that I have been the President of this prestigious chapter, I have enjoyed being around the families that constitute the chapter, most especially our children. The support of each member and their preparedness to meet any call and sometimes go beyond the call has been the easiest part of my job.
I have represented our chapter on the National Advisory Board before the membership was reconstituted to include only chapter President and I currently serve as the unofficial secretary to the council. I enjoy their solid support, loyalty, and above all their respect and I reciprocate always. It is through their support and confidence in me that I was approached to serve as the National President of the Association. Also, being tapped by the National President to Chair the 2010 Convention Planning Committee before it was awarded to the Seattle chapter is another reflection of the recognition my position as the Seattle chapter President has afforded me.
I enjoy the opportunity and will forever cherish it.
Thank you.
Abiodun Aina, KSANG Seattle President
National Vice President
Chairman, Seattle 2010 Conference/Convention Planning Committee
